Feyenoord Saturday the last exhibition game of the preparation lost to Olympiakos. The Greeks were at De Kuip with 3-1 too strong.
It was already the third defeat in a row for the team’s new coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst, having lost against VVV-Venlo (1-2) and Southampton (0-3).
Feyenoord the league season starts next Saturday with a home match against FC Utrecht.
The earlier defeats were for Van Bronckhorst revealed new slide in its setup. Tonny Vilhena was left back in place of the diseased Miquel Nelom. Elvis Manu started left front at the expense of Colin Kazim-Richards, who like After Lex had to sit on the bench.
Clumsy
The changes did not have the desired effect. Feyenoord played in a too slow pace, suffered too many turnovers and defended occasionally clumsy. Greece’s champion profited gratefully and led at halftime already 3-0.

After the break Feyenoord Olympiakos managed to offer resistance, partly because Jens Toornstra gave way to fact that poet went to play near center striker Dirk Kuyt. Thus the returning striker was slightly better involved in the game.
Kuijt utilized a penalty he had earned himself (1-3). The captain made his first goal since his comeback, but that was only a small bright spot for the locals.
